Litigation support and disablity

Our professional background means that as experts we are able to:

Understanding disability and its impact on work
Appreciate how different disabilities / health problems can impact on performance at work, for example, head injury, chronic pain, occupational stress.

Assessment of retraining potential
Make an objective assessment of retraining capacity and potential. It is not always clear from school reports, or work history what a Claimant is capable of achieving in another occupational area. Our professional backgrounds and expertise enable us to identify work that can play to an individual's strengths and make an objective accurate assessment of likely success. For example, determining the literacy and numeracy skills of an ex-manual worker can be essential to gauging a realistic view of their retraining potential and likely achievement.

 Identification of suitable work
Able to assess job requirements and able to determine whether an individual is likely to meet the performance demands of a particular role. This includes issues such as emotional resilience/coping with responsibility, social confidence, people skills, cognitive ability, concentration, communication skills, attitude & motivation, drive, as well as physical stamina and ability.

Can a person return to their old job or similar?
Our professions give us an added insight into the psychological demands made of individuals in the modern work place. This can be useful where there is an issue relating to a person's ability to cope in a particular work role after an injury.

Are the pre-injury employment claims realistic?
Objective assessment of ability levels using psychometric measures can be used to confirm whether pre-accident aspirations were realistic and whether claims relating to lost careers are justified.

Identification of the vocational rehabilitation needs of the Claimant and how these can be obtained
For example, a redesign in the job, perhaps funded by a government programme, can make all the difference to a Claimant's successful return to work. Other vocational rehabilitation needs can include: counselling support to re-build emotional resilience, building physical stamina, re-training, careers guidance, communication skills training, job finding course.

Professional, evidence based approach
Our professional bodies have clearly stated ethical and professional standards underpinned by an impartial evidence based approach to best practice.
